How Do You Choose a Las Vegas Hotel?

bed

How do you choose a hotel in Las Vegas? Do you need party central. Are you searching for the perfect meals? Are you the type who will double book massages and skin treatments? Is it about the comfort of the bed or the amount coming out of your wallet?
What you need is the Las Vegas hotel guide to help you make a decision.

As you begin to search for hotel rooms in Las Vegas realize that these days hotels are competing for your dollars so be diligent because you will find a good deal. Search for room rates with Kayak.com and then check the hotel promotions page. Once you have that information you will be better able to make a decision on what a good deal looks like in Vegas.

One more thing, if you get back to your room at 8 am and your bed is still made that is called a successful night. Sleeping is overrated in Las Vegas, get out there and stay out as long as you can!

CityCenter is Very Close, Are You Getting Excited?

City Center Nov. 09

As you look up and down the strip the skyline has been forever transformed by CityCenter and a few days are all that separate you from a room at one of the newest places to be in Las Vegas. Are you looking forward to the dining choices at CityCenter? What about shopping at CityCenter? The plush rooms, the spas, the pools, the...there is so much to look forward to that it is intoxicating.

I'm excited about rooms that will incorporate technology on a scale that has not been experienced in Las Vegas as well as the ability of Las Vegas to embrace sustainable building practices as an example of how to build while maintaining an eye on the environment. But, I am really excited about the new places to have a drink and to indulge in my favorite past time. Eating.

Three-star Michelin Chef Pierre Gagnaire will open his first U.S. restaurant Twist by Pierre Gagnaire at the Mandarin Oriental and you can bet I'll be in line as they unlock the doors. Dare I say a modern French restaurant with views from the 23rd floor of the Las Vegas strip will rise to my list of favorites restaurants in Las Vegas. Well, let's not get crazy, the place is not even open yet, but it will be, soon.

Of course, you cannot forget that "Viva Elvis" will open at ARIA Resort and the new Cirque du Soleil show is a tribute to Elvis Presley and his music.
Prepare yourself as CityCenter starts to creep into your every thought and your need to get to Las Vegas expands into an ever growing craving that must be satisfied.

Plenty of people have ideas oabout development in Las Vegas, what about you, do you have an opinion? What do you think about CityCenter in Las Vegas?

Where Will You Watch the Game in Las Vegas?

Lagasse's Stadium

The art of spending an entire day at the sports book is a finely crafted talent. You have to gauge your consumption of alcohol, time your restroom breaks and keep yourself fed. It's not easy so you need some resources to aid in your quest to watch every game and Las Vegas sports books can do that for you.

This time of year all we really need is a place to sit around and watch sports all day long. A few big screens, some good food, a few beers and some friends. Take that simple formula and add Las Vegas excitement. Add in the ability to put a few bucks on the game. Add in a server who smiles as she delivers your beer and snacks. Now toss in a room full of people all looking for the same experience and you have Lagasse's Stadium at Palazzo Las Vegas.

Sports book, sports bar, lounge and restaurant all combined into one central location where the fanatic can truly enjoy the big games. College football, pro football, baseball and hockey all at once!

What are you doing? There is very little reason for you to be watching any game on that tiny 19 inch box sitting in your living room. Put on some pants, check your t-shirt for stains and then get to the Las Vegas strip for a day long journey into watching sports and having fun.

Do you need to know what is on the menu, I almost forgot, Emeril Lagasse will keep the game day celebration going with the New Orleans inspired cuisine that is perfect for all sports fans. Lagasse's Stadium at Palazzo Las Vegas is Heaven for the sports fanatic.

Start planning your trip to Las Vegas by researching prices with Expedia.com and Southwest Airlines Vacations. They should give you a good idea of what you can expect to spend on a Las Vegas vacation.

Go Shopping at Town Square Las Vegas.

Town Square Las Vegas

Black Friday is a few days away so you have to be prepared for the pushing and shoving that comes along with shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. Somehow the media has worked us all up into a frenzy about having to shop on the one day when too much turkey renders our rational thinking useless. So, prepare yourself and go shopping in Las Vegas.

If you have a need to stroll around a mall but you really want a little less of the Las Vegas casino crowd go south on the Las Vegas strip and check out Town Square Las Vegas. Make an excursion out of it and have a meal at one of the many places to eat at Town Square or let your kids play in the play area. If you see a guy with two kids and a frustrated face that would be me, my wife is most likely in a fitting room comparing at least four blouses that she will claim all make her look fat.

If you are at Town Square without kids don't waste time on a bench go into the Yard House, have a few beers and watch some highlights or you could also catch a movie at Rave Motion Pictures. With diversions like that you might offer to go shopping.

A big fan of Shopping? Here are a few other places you will love:

Experience d.vino Italian Food and Wine Bar

d.vino Las Vegas

I have had a love affair with Italian wines for quite sometime, maybe it was my high school English teacher with that long, Italian dark hair or the way she smiled when she talked about growing up on a vineyard in Tuscany. Just thinking about that makes me want to write a run on sentence and have her lecture me about...sorry I digress, Italian wine and food.

I'm back, that feeling is very similar to the feeling of having a long meal at d.vino Italian Food and Wine Bar at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas. Good food, fabulous wine and the effortless ability to stretch a conversation from minutes to hours and to be immersed in a culinary journey as well as feel like a true oenophile. You'll enjoy the comfortable atmosphere at d.vino and the food will delight you with the simple pleasure of an Italian kitchen.

Did I mention they have wine? While the wine list is very good I would suggest the Enomatic. It allows you to sample wine in 1, 2 or 5 oz. servings and is truly the way to turn an afternoon into an evening.

You Deserve a Stay at the Palazzo Las Vegas

Lobby at the Palazzo

You need to seriously consider staying at the Palazzo Las Vegas. First, you deserve it, you put in the long hours, you deal with the stress of running a household, those dogs that bark at night never allow you to get the decent rest you need. Must I go on, you need a vacation. More importantly, you need a little of the good life. So do it.

This is how it will go, you'll wake up have some coffee and walk down to the Canyon Ranch Spa. Can you say relaxation? Canyon Ranch Spa is not that place where you go for the $15 massage, it's an experience, a transformation really, but why get all fancy with words and emotions, just understand that you'll finally find that happy space. Try Aquavana, an excursion into relaxation by way of water and temperature variations. The Finnish Sauna is good but you need to experience a tropical rain storm or the cool fog in the Experiential Rain environment.

At this point you'll want to walk up to your suite and take a nap but you should indulge in a Cucumber Gimlet and a light lunch at First Food and Bar. As the afternoon develops you can opt for a day of lounging by the Palazzo pool and then gear yourself up for dinner, drinks and dancing at LAVO at the Palazzo Las Vegas.

Understand, this just day one, do I need to mention the 12 other restaurants that are to die for? What about the bars and lounges? The shows? The excitement of the craps tables? It's Vegas people, you need it and the Palazzo has it.

Start planning your trip to Las Vegas by researching prices with Expedia.com and Southwest Airlines. They should give you a good idea of what you can expect to spend on a Las Vegas vacation.

Face Down Doing the Cabo Wabo at Cabo Wabo Cantina Las Vegas

Cabo Wabo Cantina
I have a tendency to enjoy a drink or two. I won't lie, the Las Vegas strip is the perfect place for a guy like me. Food, drinks and music, really how much more do we need to be happy? Well, at Cabo Wabo Cantina at the Planet Hollywood you'll get that and a bit more. Sit out on the deck and indulge in exactly what you need while in Las Vegas. As Las Vegas walks by and the skyline transforms itself right before your eyes have a Waborita sing out loud to music that you forgot you knew the words to and get a little of that Cabo Wabo feeling.

Here is the deal, this isn't the the bar in Cabo San Lucas that you might have stopped in. That's a good thing because if you have ever left that place as they close up shop there were few alternatives after the night ended. In Las Vegas the action goes late into the evening and your options for debauchery are limitless.

So order a Waborita, yes, you need the salt on the rim, that is the bell that tells you the party is about to begin. Grab the appetizer sampler, this way you can take your time snacking as you indulge in a few adult beverages to help you ease in to the Cabo Wabo mindset. If you want that Mexico feeling you might have to go with the Fish tacos but I think the rock shrimp tacos do a better job of transporting you to a marina bar in Cabo. You ready for some Tequila?

Get ready.

Scream it loud, "Mas Tequila!". Don't worry you're in Las Vegas, they won't throw you out. They'll get you some tequila.

The Most Glamorous Pools In Las Vegas

It wasn't long ago that vegas was dominated by toddlers wearing inflatable floatation devices and teenagers doing their splashiest cannonballs next to your rickety metal lounger. But over the last five years, Vegas resorts have created an adult oasis of glamorous pools and beach clubs that rival most of America's actual beach resorts.

From the margarita-induced chicken fight of the Hard Rock Hotel to the beach club of Mandalay Bay, here are our picks for summer's best poolside hotspots.…

Playboy's Restaurant Picks

B&B RISTORANTE
THE VENETIAN
3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 266-9977

This is clearly not your parents' Italian restaurant; überchef Mario Batali and partner Joe Bastianich forgo the Sinatra for the screamin' guitar and breathe fresh air into their fare, such as a roasted beet salad, prosciutto San Daniele Riserva, orechiette with sweet sausage and rapini, grilled lamb chop with eggplant, roasted cherry tomatoes and a limoncello and poppy seed torta.
Overall: A- $$$$

KOBE SUSHI BISTRO
6375 S. Rainbow Blvd. (also at 9340 W. Flamingo Road); 898-9998

Adding some fusion rolls and some "American" dishes to the menu has broadened Kobe's appeal in this growing neighborhood. Worthy of note: the Monkey Special (crab and spicy tuna on banana tempura), the Omelet Roll (crab, avocado, cucumber, rice and nori wrapped in a thin omelet), potstickers, edamame, Mozzarella Chicken and banana tempura with ice cream.
Overall: A $$

LILY'S RESTAURANT
2101 S. Decatur Blvd.; 257-1330

Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants are becoming as common in Southern Nevada as wing joints in Buffalo, but Lily's — which is Persian (Iranian) in provenance — rises above many of the others with well-prepared food and a serene atmosphere that belies its strip-center location. We liked the artfully presented Souvlaki, the Khoresht Fesanjan, the shish kabob, a combination appetizer plate of hummus, stuffed grape leaves and baba ghanoush, and baklava for dessert.
Overall: A - $$

TRADER VIC'S
25B6 Miracle Mile Shops, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 405-4700

Umbrella drinks aside this is not your father's Trader Vic's; the pan-Asian menu and subdued decor reflect a more sophisticated American diner. We liked the Hawaiian poke, the Kalua pork sliders, Trader Vic's Fried Rice, tofu Thai red curry and nine-spice roasted half chicken; the authentic throwback (which is to say, not too sweet) Mai-Tai made things even better.
Overall: A- $$

Although the Crazy Horse Too has sunk rapidly in terms of the quality of girls, it is still one of the top clubs in all of Las Vegas.

Two giant rooms that are always packed at night. You can look into the crowd and see a writhing sea of gorgeous female flesh. Its breathtaking. The Crazy Horse Too is the overall best combination of great looking girls who give excellent lap dances, and not so great looking girls who give better ones.

Hours: 24 hours a day 7 days a week
Cost: $20 cover

This club has lots of energy and is very upscale. Spearmint Rhino will be the most packed with customers and girls of any club in Las Vegas. It is almost always Standing Room Only. The girls are spectacular and the dances are excellent, the mileage varies widely between what is available here. Plenty of nasty, but you have to dig deep for it. Girls from Spearmint Rhinos all across the country come here to work, so you can fill your scorecard with girls of all nationalities and races.

Great for a bachelor party but don’t bring your girlfriend here. This place is hustle city…the girls are hustling, the waitresses are hustling, not exactly conducive to a fun date.

Hours: 24 hours a day 7 days a week
Cost: $20 cover, Locals that drive themselves are FREE, if they come in a cab, they pay $20
Dances: Starting at $20 dances

Best girls, worst lap dances.

Club Paradise is still the most upscale club in all of Las Vegas and regularly boasts girls that you seen in Playboy, Maxim, etc. There is no other club in Las Vegas that comes close for sheer quality of eye candy.

In general, the lap dances are tame here. The saying your mileage will vary definitely applies, but if you are looking for nasty lap dances…this is not the place.

If you want a place to bring your wife or girlfriend and introduce her to the world of strip clubs, this is the place. It is also the place to go for a bachelor party that is not looking to get too wild but you want memories of amazing women.

Hours: Monday – Friday 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., Saturday – Sunday 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

I'm really excited about the projects and big time acts that are in town and possibly coming. I recently went to see Prince at his new club 3121 at the Rio, i have to say, i never really new Prince before, i mean i didn't realize he sang alot of songs i liked before but it was the best show i've ever seen and i've seen a few but WOW that guy is just pure energy.

I'm also hearing that Celine Dion is leaving the Ceasars Palace and they are trying to get Janet Jackson pretty bad from what i hear and her brother is also putting something together here and when that day comes i for one will be insanely happy.

Traffic is the worst and it's going to be getting alot worse in the coming years with all the new projects planned and started already, for those of you that know Harmon st. it's going to be totally revamped and full of billion dollar condos and highrises for those that need to be on the strip.

The clubs here are second to none from what i've seen, each of the big hotels on the strip has one or more and they're all packed all the time. My favorite are the strip clubs, which keep popping up each day and bigger than the last, and you can always find Celebrities male and female in the good ones like Spearmint Rhino, Crazy Horse 2, Sapphires and there's way more for you to hop around to and i've never seen a place where so many girls go and party before during and after nightclub hours, i love it myself it gives the clubs a lot more flavor with the girls coming in to just hang out.

Well i'll update this post as much as i can a few times a week for you

so take care and have an awesome time
